Sept 22, 2015 – Today in Kyiv’s America House, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey R. Pyatt, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Igor Raynin and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Regional Development Agency, GloBee, Sean Kealty participated in a video-teleconference press briefing on the opening of the Kharkiv Region Initiatives Center in Washington, DC (USA) within the offices of the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation.
On the U.S. side of the teleconference, participating were Foundation President Nadia Komarnyckyj McConnell, President of McConnell & Associates Robert A. McConnell, Foundation Vice-President and Director of Field Operations Markian Bilynskyj, Foundation Program Director Yuliya Solovey and USUF’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer John A. Kun.
The new Kharkiv region office in Washington was initiated by the Kharkiv Regional State Administration along with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation and the Ukrainian public organization, the International Agency for Regional Development, GloBee.
The main task of the Kharkiv Region Initiatives Center will be to promote and assist in the development of the Kharkiv Oblast, through initiatives in arts and culture, business and economic development, education, humanitarian assistance, and science and research.
