The people of Ukraine need urgent medical care, yet key medicines and equipment are in short supply. We reached out to Ukrainian hospitals and medical organizations on the ground, our contacts sent us a list of priority supplies they simply cannot access in the quantities required, and we joined together to fill the need with operation Ukraine Airlift.

In the spirit of the Berlin Airlift, the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation is delivering life-saving aid to hospitals and humanitarian aid centers in Ukraine. While our public updates may have been less consistent that we would prefer, our work on this project has never faltered. Our aid collection and has been continuous and is ongoing.

The American Hospital Association stands as one of our most successful partnerships. In addition to putting out a call to their membership via a special bulletin on March 23rd, the AHA made a generous donation to the project and continues to lead discussions of the Russian war on Ukraine and Russian cybersecurity threat to American medical providers. Those in contact with the AHA responded in kind, including the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, sharing information about USUF efforts with their own membership.

Similarly, the Afya Foundation authored several articles alerting their readers to the opportunity to fill a dire need in Ukraine via Operation Ukraine AirLIFT and pivoted their Disaster Response Hub to prepare wound care, surgical equipment, and biomedical equipment for shipment. By rescuing unused medical supplies which would otherwise be thrown away, Afya helps serves both the people of Ukraine in requirement of medical treatment and the people of the planet by reducing needless medical waste.

The March of Dimes announced their own collection of items for supporters to purchase and mail in as well as those which can be purchased for the Ukraine aid effort, providing many very important supplies.

United Help Ukraine has raised a great deal of key aid, including CAT tourniquets, hygiene items, IFAKs, and many tons of other humanitarian aid. Among others, defenders from Mykolaiv and the Zhytomyr region directly benefitted from this aid.

In addition to these key partners, we also have received donations from other organizations and others continue to transport their own life-saving aid to Ukraine. The generosity of the American community continues to provide, and it continues to save brave Ukrainian defenders and innocent civilians bearing the brunt of Russian aggression. Thank you and all our supporters! Let’s keep up the good work. We stand with the people of Ukraine.
