Stars of Ukraine 2025 Award Dinner

Watch the recording of the event

On March 27, 2025, the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation hosted a significant summit at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, D.C., which brought together leading experts, policy-makers, and advocates to discuss the future of Ukraine. As part of this two-day summit, the Stars of Ukraine Award Dinner was held, honoring Senator Mitch McConnell, Ambassador Zygimantas Pavilionis, and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. The evening also included a "Tribute to 2025 Members of Congress" award, recognizing U.S. Senators and Representatives who continued to stand in solidarity with Ukraine.

Senator Mitch McConnell delivered compelling remarks, emphasizing the critical importance of sustained bipartisan support for Ukraine and reaffirming the United States' commitment to resisting authoritarian aggression. You can read his prepared remarks in full here.

As NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg was unable to attend in person, Ambassador Kurt Volker accepted the award on his behalf and pledged to deliver it to Stoltenberg.

The dinner drew numerous distinguished guests, including Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States, Oksana Markarova, along with dignitaries from European embassies, Congressional representatives, and members of the Ukrainian-American and broader policy communities.

The event underscored the enduring transatlantic partnership and the urgent need to support Ukraine’s sovereignty, democracy, and post-war recovery. A video of the dinner capturing key moments from the evening—including speeches and awards—was recorded and is available for viewing here.
