Downtown Tampa: Ukrainian Independence Day Celebration

WHAT: All-Tampa Bay Rally in honor of the Independence Day of Ukraine

WHEN: Saturday, August 27 at 9:30 AM

WHERE: Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa (600 N Ashley Dr, Tampa, FL 33602)

On Saturday, August 27, local community leaders will be hosting an All-Tampa Bay Rally in honor of the Independence Day of Ukraine.

Among the invited speakers are Mayor Jane Castor and Dr. Donna Peterson, Dean at the University of South Florida (USF). Participants are professional Ukrainian singers, an orchestra violinist, a professional bandura player from Chicago (bandura is a traditional Ukrainian instrument), and a standup comedian. All of these will be intertwined with ballroom and traditional dancing, reading of Ukrainian poetry in English, opportunities for karaoke, and open mic.

This event is supported by Saint Leo University, the U.S.-Ukrainian Foundation, and a prominent local family business of Iavarone’s Steakhouse.
