The U.S.-Ukraine Foundation has been working with Muscatine, Iowa Sister Cities, Inc , to provide funds for humanitarian aid to be delivered in Drohobych, Ukraine - a historic community not far from Lviv.
Muscatine, Iowa is a Sister City of Drohobych (since 1998), and their leadership team of John Dabeet, president of Muscatine Sister Cities and Walter Conlon, among others, contacted USUF Vice President John A. Kun for advice and assistance in order to make the gift possible. Drohobych has been a locale welcoming displaced Ukrainians, and the funds will go toward supporting them and others with food, clothing, shelter and health care.
Marta Slotylo Charitable Fund was chosen to be the local group that delivers the assistance on the ground. It is a local non-profit led by Marta Slotylo, an activist and member of the Drohobych city council. USUF looks forward to furthering its relationship with Muscatine, Iowa and Drohobych, Ukraine!
