Question – Is Putin running out of critical radar?
The link below is to a Frontline interview with General Philip Breedlove USAF (Ret), former Supreme Allied Commander Europe and member of the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation’s Friends of Ukraine Network (FOUN) where that question is asked.
General Breedlove addresses that question, but most appropriately, he addresses the fundamental issue—Washington’s mishandling of its “support” for Ukraine—we need a change in policy.
There has been a change in the last few months in what the Administration has said. We have gone from we are with Ukraine for “as long as it takes” (to do what never answered.) to “we are with Ukraine until it wins,” and this is good, but words are words; our actions have not changed. There has been no policy change.
Washington still withholds certain weapons and refuses to agree to Ukraine using American weapons most effectively in the war.
It is unconscionable that President Zelenskyy left Washington without the weapons and permission to use them as Ukraine sees fit.
Vladimir Putin’s most effective weapon since at least his invasion of Georgia in 2008 has been his nuclear bluster. The United States – through three administrations – has been deterred by threats.
It is long past time for the United States to regain the superpower deterrence we once had. And it is time for a policy change to one that not only says we intend for Ukraine to win but a policy change that is reflected in our actions.
Listen to General Breedlove; he says what needs to be said.
It's time for Washington to listen and act.
