The U.S.-Ukraine Foundation is proud to have partnered with the Kyiv International branch of the Rotary Club. Rotary Club Kyiv International fills critical needs on the ground in Ukraine, and it is our honor to help fund their important work.

To address the destruction of logistic delivery chains between cities—which made near impossible the delivery of food, drinking water, hygiene products, and medicine to Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Bucha, Kyiv, and more—Kyiv Rotary found drivers, purchased supplies, and facilitated the transport of grocery kits to people in need. Volunteers across Ukraine organized food distribution right on the street, though they often had to drop everything and race to bomb shelters when sirens blared or curfew began. Medicines—hemostatic drugs in particular—were bought and delivered to hospitals in the thousands, Many volunteers were killed in the process. However, all the same, brave Ukrainians continue to step up to answer the call.

In Chernihiv, all food and drinking water for over a month has been provided by such volunteers. Broken roads and blown-up bridges make the nearby villages unreachable for many major efforts. But the Kyiv Rotary Chernihiv team made 10trips to Chernigov and surrounding villages during April.

To Dnipro, its nursing homes, the Mechnikova Hospital, and surrounding villages, volunteers bring food, support, and medicines twice every week.

In Mykolaiv, Russian troops interrupted the safe supply of drinking water, so water is now delivered to the 500,000 people living in the city and its neighboring regions along with hospital beds, water filters, and adult diapers.

Beyond providing basic groceries, Kyiv Rotary works to address the desperate fuel shortage limiting ambulance services in Kyiv, Chernihiv, and their surrounding regions. Every day, they fill about 10 ambulances with 40 liters each in order to take the wounded to hospitals for life-saving care. Kyiv Rotary also pays for fuel for the delivery of humanitarian cargo to Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Poltava, Dnipro, and Zaporozhe.

Serving refugees as well as those who remaining in their homes, Kyiv Rotary has helped with evacuations to Lviv and organized shelters, bedding, mattresses, pillows, and food for internally displaced people. City authorities provided schools, colleges, and universities as centers for the internally displaced. The Kyiv Rotary helped equip shelters in Zolochiv (Lviv region), Uzhgorod(Transcarpathian region), Polyanytsya (Ivano-Frankivsk region), and Kharkiv.

Thank you to Kyiv Rotary! We are proud to partner with you.
