The New Nuclear Doctrines of Russia and the United States

Recent adjustments to the nuclear doctrines of the Russian Federation and the United States demonstrate the urgent need for a renewed dialogue between the two countries on managing their vast nuclear weapons capabilities and potential. Is there room left for constructive initiatives that will reestablish cooperation in nuclear risk reduction between the United States and Russia?Can strategic stability be rebuilt on new terms? This workshop will bring together leading minds from the worlds of theory and practice in the United States, Russia, and other countries to address questions that are vital for world peace and security at a time of tense U.S.-Russia relations.
