Each assassination is accompanied by a web of false narratives, often transmitted by state-run media outlets. Marina Litvinenko and Alex Goldfarb are fighting back by suing RT and Channel 1 Russia for their role in spreading disinformation surrounding the poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko, a former officer of the Russian FSB secret service, who was killed in London in 2006. The Atlantic Council will bring together a panel of experts for a discussion entitled Putin’s Propaganda: Pushing Back Against Kremlin-Run Television. Speakers include Mr. Alex Goldfarb, Ms. Marina Litvinenko, and Mr. Bertrand C. Sellier. The panel discussion will be moderated by Dr. Lauren Van Metre.
