Putin’s post-election foreign policy
March 29, 2018 @ 10:00 am
Vladimir Putin has again secured the country’s presidency for another six-year term. In the lead up to the elections, the rhetoric from Moscow indicates little reason to expect a change in behavior, but the Kremlin’s post-elections foreign policy direction will have significant implications for the transatlantic partners and the global order as a whole.Given this, The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) invites you to a conversation to discuss Russia’s post-election priorities in three different regions: East Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. Assessing Putin’s objectives in each of these specific theatres will provide an important basis for transatlantic cooperation, as the allies and partners work together on protecting their shared interest. Discussants: Anna Borshchevskaya, Ira Weiner Fellow, The Washington Institute; Chris Miller, Assistant Professor of International History, The Fletcher School, Tufts University; Laura Rosenberger, Senior Fellow and Director of the Alliance for Securing Democracy, The German Marshall Fund of the United States Moderator: Steven Keil, Fellow and Senior Program Officer, Security and Defense Policy, The German Marshall Fund of the United States FOR MORE INFORMATION: Please contact Daria Grineva at FPIntern@gmfus.org. http://www.gmfus.org/events/putins-post-election-foreign-policy
